Why mark the queens?
The Queen's Marking facilitate its recognition in a dense colony. It allows to know its year of birth and verify its presence during hive visits. The colour of the tablet or paint on its back allows to quickly identify it.

🔵 Blue years ending 0 or 5
⚪ White years ending 1 or 6
🟡 Yellow years ending 2 or 7
🔴 Red years ending 3 or 8
🟢 Green years ending 4 or 9
⚠️ Attention : Never score a queen Unfertilized. Use a piston cage to catch the queen with one hand and easily mark her with the other.
